Academy Elite Program

The KM United Academy Elite program is open to boys and girls entering the U-9 and U-10 age divisions. It is designed to prepare players for select soccer. The goal is to promote player development, starting with the individual player’s core approach to the game. Players learn how to approach the game with the right attitude, one that allows them the best opportunity to learn the game both from their successes and their mistakes, while emphasizing the importance of good sportsmanship toward teammates, referees and opposing players and teams. 

Academy Elite players will train twice a week with Academy Elite staff coaches, who will teach them proper technique, body positioning and movement, feints and fakes, passing, shooting and small-game tactics. Practices are structured to promote both team play and player individuality. The Academy Elite program believes that the proper foundation of skills and technique allows a player to be creative and add his/her own individuality and flair to the game. Academy Elite players train in an environment that encourages players to listen to their coach, but also express their individuality while on the field. We believe that players should approach the game with ambition and excitement. Players will also learn the importance of good fitness and proper nutrition.  Most importantly, Academy Elite players will learn the importance of belonging to a team and representing a club, and will be afforded the opportunity to participate in local tournaments.

*All Academy Elite coaches are licensed coaches

Academy Elite players/teams:

• Train twice a week with staff coaches and/or the Academy Director.
• Register into MYRSL (league games to be played in Milwaukee metro area).
• Participate in one session of mandatory indoor at Brookfield Indoor Soccer Complex.
• Attend winter training sessions.
• Participate in Inter-Academy Championship play.
• Attend local tournaments (two in the fall, two in the spring; not included in Academy fee).

Academy Elite teams will be formed based on the following criteria:

• Player gender
• Player grade and date of birth
• Discretion of the Director of the Youth Academy/Director of Coaching
• Teams may be re-aligned* at midseason to encourage player/team development at the discretion of the Director of the Academy/Director of Coaching

*Academy Elite teams will be assembled by the Academy staff to promote the best development and environment for the players.  Since the purpose of the program is to develop as many players as possible, they will be placed in an environment that encourages growth and competition. As a result, the program will be structured to prepare players for select level soccer; not to thrust them into that environment before they are ready. While winning and competition are important to the Academy Elites, they are not the goal of the Program. The goal of the program is to develop players so that they will be physically, technically, and mentally ready to enter select level soccer at U-11.
